UOL, Hilton sign deal for first NoMad Hotel in Apac at former Faber House site
Andrew Zobler, creator and executive of Sydell Group, states that the brand name’s launching in Singapore is simply the beginning, with a number of offers “in advanced discussions in places in North America, Europe and more”.
Made by WOHA, the accommodation will include a biophilic style with a 15-storey waterfall and a “cliff-like verdant upright landscape” established into the façade. There will likewise be an “urban verandah”: a public area on the 3rd level that will be made use of for art and design programming. UOL states the metropolitan verandah will also assist in future connections to bordering projects.
“With interest for premium, experience-driven stays surging across the region, the high-end gateway of Singapore offers the perfect backdrop to debut NoMad’s uniquely local high-end hospitality– and will be the first of several cities in Asia to welcome the brand,” claims Alan Watts, president for Asia Pacific at Hilton.
Other features of the hotel include a lobby on level 5 with an adjoining sky patio and an infinity balcony swimming pool overlooking Orchard Road, and a roof bar and eating place.
“We are delighted to introduce NoMad to Singapore as part of our placemaking vision for Orchard Road, along with UOL’s upcoming personal and unique preview of its high end residential venture, UpperHouse at Orchard Blvd, and the acclaimed Pan Pacific Orchard, forming a triad that will contribute to the improvement of Orchard Road,” says Liam Wee Sin, UOL’s chief executive.
NoMad is a deluxe lifestyle accommodation label emphasizing state-of-the-art style, world-class eating and immersive social channels. Established by US hospitality firm Sydell Group, the brand joined the Hilton profile adhering to the team’s acquisition of a majority risk in Sydell Group last year. At the moment, NoMad has one main establishment in London, with arrangements to broaden internationally.
Faber House was an eight-storey business building located across the road from 313@somerset. In 2021, UOL obtained in-principle authorizations to redevelop the site into a 19-storey hotel under URA’s Strategic Development Initiative (SDI) plan. The lodging is going to also consist of business and retail space.
UOL Group is joining drives with worldwide hospitality forerunner Hilton to launch the initial NoMad Accommodation in Asia Pacific. Hilton is going to look after operations of the 173-room deluxe hotel, which will be positioned at the former Faber House on Orchard Road. The lodging is set to open in very early 2027.
